Compositors are starting to implement Wayland EGLStreams support, but it’s very shaky at the moment. As always, X works fine in some setups but is hopelessly broken in others (e.g. multiple NVidia GPUs connected to multiple monitors).
AFAIK Gnome and KDE already have EGLStreams support in place, but it does not work for XWayland because incompatibilities in NVIDIA-maintained libraries.
