Spelt, not spelled; tisk tisk ;)

I love everything about this!

The AI that generated this slop doesn't understand regional dialects of English.

Hear, hear! I should very much like to see the Linux kernel adopt Bespoke instead of that terribly uncouth Rust manner of speaking, like a mouth full of nails.

The difficult part is making those beautiful colour palettes.

You definitely don't want to rock the boat and undermine the diamond industry, that much is crystal clear.

Rocket Knight Adventures!!! Immediately I can hear the music in my head, and I haven't thought about this game in a long, looooong time! Thank you for mentioning it, I'm off to get a Mega Drive emulator :)

Is the zero instead of capital O in the title intentional?

They are kinda inconsistent about it, looking at the social media handles, ascii logos, etc.

Decades before leetcode, we already had leetspeak! This is that.

At least spell his name correctly, my goodness...

Terence Tao.

Can't believe we missed that. Fixed now. Thanks!

It was expected that people without established credibility would be looked down on for using AI, but it's been weird to see people with all the credibility in the world lose it for embracing AI.

Tao gives or takes credibility from AI, not the other way around.

Is Tao the rising angel? Or AI the falling ape?

--Another Terry, Perhaps

AI-avatar-of-Tao wielded by an internet rando lies to or gets fooled by Tao, not the other way around

What credibility has he lost?

To sensible people? None. But the amount of criticism of his work that boils down to "he uses AI" is undeniable.

Can you share some of the criticism? I’ve not seen any from anyone real.

It's weird to believe he's lost credibility.

Pretty sure we mean < 1ms rather than actually instantaneous.

On a technical level yes but once you factor in monitor refresh rates then you can get to levels of optimization where it simply doesn't matter because you are constrained by waiting for the refresh rate anyways.

Its like tic tacs saying they are 0 calories because they got the per serving size down low enough to round to 0.

And full of made up statistics.

Which then devolve into supporting arguments for communism. Themselves becoming food for future irrational anecdotes about communism.

Another example is autocorrect absolutely destroying the world's ability to spell even the most basic words. Ever since mobile phones came along and removed the friction of walking to the dictionary, everywhere I look people write as if they have extremely serious brain trauma - grown adults struggling to write as well as we used to as children!
