Misery is a symptom of depression, which is classified as a disability.

Coughing is a symptom of many things, yet you cannot conclude I have cancer from a cough.

I should know better than to make statements in dumb topics like this. It's like dipping a net into a pool and just filtering out weird takes like this one.

Honestly I framed this poorly, sorry. I wasn't arguing for accommodating all miserable people but my comment implied an extreme position I don't believe.

Thanks, I also took it in the least charitable way - which also wasn't fair. Thanks for being cool.

Why is it a weird take?

You take an existing game/IP and recreate it with lower fidelity, usually due to the platform of choice. It's common to take a 3D game and then work within the limitations of removing one dimension. Since PICO is severely limited, that's the novelty and challenge to rebuild an existing game inside it. Super fun.

This is a bit disingenuous. People aren't losing their shit about a local model being installed. It's the lack of user autonomy. Just give the option to download a model instead of a silent install. It's not that hard. This is how every other local option works.

AFAIK Apple and MS auto-download local models.

The former has made a big deal about local inference and marketed that as an OS level feature.

You can also…turn it off.

Chrome silently elected people into it _and_ downloaded the model without asking because they decided that’s something they (chrome) fancied doing.

The difference should be pretty obvious.

Sorry, I should have been more specific. This is how every *good local option works.

I feel like regex and curated blocklists would get you pretty far before needing an LLM to continuously read your feed. I'm wondering how successful the local options are, because sending your social media feed to an API that is also being used to serve you low quality posts your blocking is a pretty depressing ouroboros.

Not saying there isn't anything valuable here but the entire site looks like an LLM prompt.

I was going to ask. Isn't 4k from Discord pretty low for the work conducted here? I'm not familiar with bounty payouts. I'm hoping these companies aren't taking advantage of them.

4k is sadly discords highest bounty they give out (screenshot from their bugcrowd program: https://imgur.com/a/KNIdeXh) even more critical issues then this one get paid the same amount out

I added Nvidia PhysX to GameMaker. https://youtu.be/CNy4D0Kfu34 I have a public alpha launching in two weeks, so this video is unlisted at the moment. Nervous but I'm pretty happy with the current API.

I'm currently developing a middleware that connects Nvidia PhysX to GameMaker. There's still a lot of work left but I have most features working in some capacity. Dynamic and static actors, primitive/convex/triangulated shapes, joints, character controllers, GPU accelerated PBD particles and deformables, etc. GameMaker is primarily a 2D engine and offers limited options for 3D, but it is possible if you know how to use vertex buffers. I'll probably post it here once it's a little farther along, but I'm pretty proud of my progress so far. I'm hoping I can use it to support myself in some way, but there's a lot of anxiety in selling a niche project like this.
