The improved performance wasn't the main goal, but the HTMX version feels snappier on my purposefully mid test device (Xiaomi Redmi 8 4GB RAM).

most people i know that bought into htmx went back to react after they couldn't manage the spaghettification

although i wonder if LLM changes things

i am interested in moving away from React but its also what LLMs know infinitely more of than HTMX

Considering the size of current smartphones, using laptop as more compact alternative is quite clever idea.

Someone clearly had a lot of fun making all of those components. Adorable and whimsy. One nitpick - when writing uppercase letters in text field they should make larger ripples than lowercase.

Another nitpick: why are only the button outlines having a jelly effect and not the texts written on them? This makes them feel physically unconnected.

I had the same nit, but I imagine deforming text / inline content generally would be a much larger effort.

Maybe, but changing the font size of individual chars could already help.

There is a severe lack of compact smartphones in the market. Are there any devices available with regular OS updates, that fit into normal sized pocket?

I have found a very usable phone (for what I do, which is not much) in low cost Chinese "mini rugged phones" namely I had (until I broke the screen and battery was not in very good condition) a "king kong mini" and then I got the (slightly larger) "king kong mini 3" (the 4 is the latest model, I believe). They are slightly heavier than you would expect, but have very long autonomy and fit nicely in a shirt's pocket.

Neat. Even with all that padding it is smaller than current "compact" devices.

This is actually a really great feature for everyone else trying to reduce their phone use without switching to different "dumbphone". But why mandatory lock by passcode? I agree, that adding more friction would prevent user to switch back to standard UI, but still - it should be optional.

Yeah I bailed out of this when it asked me to change my 8 digit passcode to a 4 to 6 digit passcode
